HKTDC Webinar Recap: Social Media Game-Changer: Mastering Content Marketing Trends in One Class

With social media algorithms and customer preferences constantly changing, how to attract target customers, retain and nurture them as repeated customers? On the other hand, niche market may be the newbie for 2024 content marketing! Content creation riding on brand-building in the past may have to adjust as well.

In October’s Digital Academy Webinar, Jansen Lu, an independent digital marketing consultant, shared 2024 social media trends, algorithm changes, and new content creation mindset to help you explore new business.

Jansen mentioned that many see social media as a marketing platform and upload product and service information regularly, but he believed the promotional flow is more sensible if it starts from converting “Strangers” into “Followers”, and finally “Customers”. The essence is getting people to know your brand through engaging contents and become followers, and then building trust to turn them into customers.

He illustrated with a few successful examples on social media, including a van company offering carriage services to Hong Kong athletes entering the Paris Olympic during their pre-event trainings. This social post creates strong linkage and solid assistance to the athletes, and most importantly exposed the company to large groups of potential customers with its positive act.

Despite winning public applause, Jansen stressed that the business gain may not be reflected immediately after a successful social post. Afterall it takes time to develop your social community.
